Somatic IFS Sessions

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is the foundation of my approach, which I integrate with my training in Hakomi: Mindful Somatic Psychotherapy, to bring a relational, body-centered focus to parts work.

Sessions are client-centered and led by your own curiosity: you define what you’d like for us to look at each session (it could be a trigger, a particular challenge or pattern you’re noticing in your life). Together, we’ll explore how your internal system of parts are organised around the topics, which you bring to sessions. I’ll guide you in uncovering the hidden stories your parts carry, noticing how they form alliances or come into conflict, and freeing them from the protective roles they’ve assumed, often since early in life.

We’ll build a trusting therapeutic relationship that respects and attunes your system’s unique needs. My hope for you is therapy becomes a space where creating a pace in which parts feel welcome to share their experiences openly.

Internal Family Systems Therapy with a body-centered, relational focus

How is the body incorporated?

I bring a particular focus to the story being told by the body during our sessions. I may gently bring your awareness to any sensations, habitual movements or impulses that naturally arise in you during our IFS work. By taking the time to bring our attention to the body’s experience, or by setting up mindful “explorations” together, we gain access to deeper insights and experiences of parts that go beyond what words alone can convey.

I offer individual therapy for adults, working online with clients around the world:

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is the foundation of my approach, which I integrate with my training in Hakomi: Mindful Somatic Psychotherapy, to bring a relational, body-centered focus to parts work.

Originally from New Zealand, I spent over a decade living and working in Germany and Portugal, where I completed my training in IFS and Somatic Psychotherapy and established a private practice in Lisbon, Portugal. There, I supported clients with a vast range of backgrounds and life experiences, both in-person and online across Europe, the UK and US.

I now offer therapy in New Zealand, drawing on my international clinical experience and ongoing commitment to body-centred, trauma-informed practice.
