Internal Family Systems Therapy

Integrated with Somatic Therapy & Polyvagel Theory

Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS) is a uniquely non-pathalogising therapy approach. One, that doesn’t see your challenges as problems to fix or solve, but as parts of you that are trying to help in the only way they know how.

Instead of fighting to control or overcome protective strategies you developed long ago, you’ll learn how to build a relationship with these parts, so healing and change can happen through understanding and self-compassion.

Whether online or in person, these sessions offer a space to explore your inner world, befriend all parts of you, and bring more choice to how you respond to life’s challenges.

A New Way of Relating to What’s Difficult

Therapy Practice in Oeiras

A body-centered approach:

In this work, we pay attention to what your body knows, not just to what you think and feel. While traditional talk therapy often focuses mainly on thoughts and emotions, a body-oriented approach also listens to the nervous system and the subtle ways past experience continues to live in the body. By integrating Internal Family Systems with Somatic Therapy and a nervous-system-informed approach, I support deeper, more embodied change.

In our sessions, we might slow down and notice sensations, impulses, tension, breath, or other somatic cues that can reveal patterns beneath words. This can help us reach the deeper beliefs, protective responses, and emotional learnings that shape how you relate to yourself, to others, and to the world.

I’m especially passionate about the blend of IFS with somatic modalities such as Hakomi: Body-centered Psychology and Polyvagel Theory - to bring a body-centered, trauma-informed approach to parts work.
